On the 30th of August, I had the privilege of attending the Zimbabwean Association in Australia's annual fundraising gala, held at the Liverpool Catholic Club. For over 21 years, ZIMAA has grown from a support network in times of grief into a strong, inclusive organisation that uplifts and connects the Zimbabwean community. This annual gala has become a much-anticipated event bringing families and friends together to celebrate culture, raise funds, and continue their important work in community engagement, supporting emerging youth leaders, heritage preservation, and social and economic wellbeing. It was particularly special to see ZIMAA members from my own electorate of Leppington, proud locals who are helping shape the heart of our community. With over 6,000 Zimbabweans across NSW supported by ZIMAA's dedicated volunteers, their impact is undeniable. The evening was alive with talent from all the captivating performances by Zimbabwean artists. I sincerely thank the organisers for such a rich, cultural, and joyful evening. It was a privilege to share in it.
