I acknowledge the Shia Muslim Council of Australia (SMCA) for hosting its inaugural Year 12 Awards Ceremony at Sydney Olympic Park on 15 February. It was an event that brought together 37 member organisations and recognised excellence across our community. Honouring 40 students from around the country who achieved an ATAR above 90 is no small milestone. These results reflect academic discipline, resilience, and the steady encouragement of families who stood beside them every step of the HSC journey. While I was unable to attend, I extend my congratulations to every student recognised, and especially to Aatefa, Yammin, Abbas and Maryam from my electorate. Your achievements set an example for other young people across Western Sydney. When young people are grounded in community and faith, they gain confidence, purpose and a deep sense of responsibility to give back. Thank you to the Shia Muslim Council of Australia for uplifting our next generation of leaders.
