It was a privilege to attend the Journey of Hope with Stars event at Liverpool Catholic Club on 31 January. Hosted by the Shahid Afridi Foundation Australia, the evening brought our community together in generosity and purpose. As part of a nationwide tour, the Shahid Afridi Foundation united sporting greats and cultural icons, including squash legend Jahangir Khan and celebrated actors Faisal Quraishi and Aijaz Aslam, to champion causes that change lives. This fundraiser goes beyond a single night of celebration. It strengthens access to education for children, supports water initiatives that deliver clean and reliable supplies to vulnerable communities, and invests in flood-relief efforts that help families rebuild with dignity after disaster. These initiatives restore stability, create opportunity, and offer hope where it is needed most. Congratulations to the Foundation for hosting such a meaningful and impactful event. My sincere thanks to Director Syed and all volunteers, supporters and donors whose generosity continues to power programs like the Ramadan Food Drive, Palestine food relief, and vital water pump installations.
