As Term 3 came to a close, Good Samaritan Catholic College had reason to celebrate. Their junior girls and boys teams were crowned champions at the 2025 SCS Goalball Gala Day! A fantastic achievement and a proud moment for the whole school community. Launched in 2022 with six enthusiastic teams, the Gala Day has blossomed into a highly anticipated event, now featuring 31 teams across Sydney Catholic Schools. A clear sign of the growing passion for inclusive sport. Goalball was the first sport initiated under the SCS All Abilities Program, designed to ensure students of all abilities can experience the joy of representing their school. Played in teams of three, with all players wearing eyeshades, the game relies on hearing, trust and teamwork to defend and score using a ball with bells inside. This program is about more than sport, it builds confidence, passion and a true sense of belonging. It's a game where ability is redefined, and every student gets the chance to play.
