Scalabrini Village in Austral recently celebrated a very special milestone. Honouring four long-serving team members whose decades of care and commitment have left a lasting mark on the lives of our ageing community. Ranita Singh (20 years), Franca Reho (25 years), Maria Pagano (35 years), and Julie Carol (36 years) have each dedicated a significant part of their lives to supporting elderly residents with compassion, dignity, and unwavering care. I want to acknowledge the deep impact their work has had not just for the residents, but on their families who can rest easy knowing their loved ones are in safe, loving hands. These staff members are the quiet heroes in our community, offering comfort in vulnerable moments, bringing joy to daily routines, and creating a true sense of home. It was also a joy to visit Scalabrini for their Christmas event on 11 December. It was a wonderful day of community spirit, music, and festive cheer that perfectly reflected the warmth of the village with plenty of smiles to go around.
