Ramadan Shopping Festival

19 March 2026

On 7 March, the Association for Community Development Incorporated hosted the 6th Annual Ramadan Shopping Festival at the Michael Clarke Recreation Centre. Over the years, this festival has grown into a valued community event in the electorate, celebrating cultural diversity, community strength and the important role of women in local enterprise. It brings people together during the holy month of Ramadan in a welcoming and bustling environment. Having attended for the past three years, I've seen firsthand how successful the event has become. The festival provides a fantastic platform for local small businesses and entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services, connect with new customers and share their work with both the Muslim community and the wider public. Events like this are especially meaningful because they support grassroots businesses while also creating a space for cultural exchange, shopping and community connection. My thanks to Ali Chowhan and the Association for Community Development for organising another successful Ramadan Shopping Festival and supporting local businesses in such a positive way.
