Our Rural Fire Service volunteers are a strong pillar of our emergency response – the ones who step forward when others step back, protecting our families, homes, and communities when it matters most. It was a privilege to attend the 2025 Macarthur Awards Ceremony on 19 July at Lakeside Golf Club in Gledswood Hills, honouring the incredible work of our local RFS crews. These volunteers don't do it for recognition – they do it out of a deep love for their communities. They give up their time, face dangerous conditions, and work as one to keep us safe during some of our most challenging moments. A special shout out to the Middleton Crew – your dedication, teamwork, and service is what community spirit looks like. To every volunteer who wears the RFS badge with pride: thank you. You remind us that real strength lies in looking out for one another. We are safer, stronger, and better because of you.
