I recognise June Young, OAM, as Leppington's Woman of the Year for 2026. At 82 years young, June remains a tireless and respected leader across the Leppington community and surrounding areas as she continues giving her time and energy to causes that support and uplift others. June has volunteered across numerous organisations, including Quota International, Rotary, Legacy, Lifeline Macarthur, Fairfield RSL, New South Wales Justices Association and Liverpool City Council committees. In 2000 her extraordinary service to the community, local government and veterans was recognised with the Order of Australia Medal. Alongside running her Liverpool business, Stage Struck Australia, for over 20 years, June has championed young local talent, helping many pursue opportunities across Australia and overseas. People like June work tirelessly and selflessly. Her dedication, compassion and lifelong service make her truly deserving of Leppington's Woman of the Year.
