Henna and Heritage

25 April 2026

On 14 March, I had the pleasure of visiting Henna and Heritage at Oran Park Library, hosted by Multilingual Community & Culture as part of the Eid Al Fitr 2026 celebrations. It was a colourful showcase of creativity and connection, with henna art, fashion, music, storytelling and traditional food bringing the space to life. Events like this do more than celebrate culture. They create opportunities for people from all backgrounds to come together, learn from one another and build a stronger sense of belonging. In a diverse community like ours, these shared experiences help bridge cultures and foster genuine understanding. From intricate henna designs to the flavours of traditional sweets and pitha, the evening reflected the richness of our multicultural identity. My thanks to everyone involved in delivering an inclusive celebration.
