What an incredible day of football at this year's Catherine Cannuli Cup. I congratulate all the participating schools, especially those from Leppington, including Holy Spirit, Hoxton Park, Kemps Creek, Middleton Grange and Greenway Park. They brought their best to the pitch across both the junior and senior divisions. I give a special mention to Greenway Park Public School. The senior girls made it to the quarterfinals and the junior team took home the championship trophy. That was an outstanding achievement for that amazing school. It is always inspiring to see young girls thriving on the field, building confidence, leadership and resilience through sport. Events like that play a vital role in shaping the next generation of strong, skilled and fearless female athletes. I thank everyone involved, including and especially my mate and footballing legend Catherine Cannuli for her ongoing leadership and commitment to empowering young women in sport. Her legacy continues to inspire and strengthen our local sporting community.
