Buddhist Blessing Ceremony

24 March 2026

On 8 March, I had the pleasure of attending the Buddhist Blessing Ceremony hosted by the Chinese Associations of Greater Western Sydney at the Friendship Arch in Freedom Plaza, Cabramatta. Held as part of the Lunar New Year celebrations, the gathering brought together community members, local leaders and Buddhist monks to welcome the Year of the Horse with reflection and goodwill. A central part of the ceremony was the Blessing of the Buddha, where monks led traditional chants and prayers. This ritual carries deep spiritual meaning in Buddhism, symbolising the offering of gratitude, the seeking of wisdom and the sharing of blessings for peace, prosperity and good fortune in the year ahead. It was a moment of calm reflection that encourages compassion and positive intentions for the community. My thanks to James and the Australian Chinese Buddhist Society for organising another meaningful celebration. Here's to a prosperous year of the horse!
