Parks are essential spaces for families to connect, unwind, and stay active, and in my rapidly expanding electorate, they are becoming increasingly vital. I am pleased to announce that for the people of Middleton Grange, this is now being delivered with the newly upgraded Affleck Gardens. Officially opened on the 31st of May, this revitalised park is named in honour of Arthur Herbert Affleck—the first Qantas pilot and the inaugural pilot of the Royal Flying Doctor Service. As a project I championed during my time on Council, it is truly rewarding to see this vision realised—creating a shared space where families, friends, and neighbours can connect, socialise, and enjoy a healthier, active lifestyle. It's great to see this long-awaited project finally come to life, so that the residents in my electorate can make the most of this fantastic community resource. This park will play a key role in strengthening community ties and enriching the quality of life in Middleton Grange for years to come.
