Aass Ball

26 June 2025

On the 24th of May, I had the honour of attending the Foundation of Hope Charity Ball, hosted by the Autism Advisory & Support Service [AASS]. Since 2007, this incredible not-for-profit organisation has been empowering children and adults with autism through education, advocacy, and unwavering support. AASS's dedicated team of professionals uses an evidence-based, collaborative, and holistic approach, working closely with individuals with autism, their families, carers, and partner agencies to develop and implement services that make a real difference. In 2023, AASS expanded its mission by opening the Somewhere Nice Opportunity Shop & Café, a fantastic initiative aimed at empowering people with disabilities and fostering a more equitable and compassionate society. By providing inclusive workplaces where individuals with autism can learn, grow, and pursue fulfilling careers, AASS is helping dismantle barriers and create pathways for genuine social and economic inclusion. Their ongoing efforts are truly invaluable, helping transform lives, reduce unemployment disparities, and build a future where diversity is celebrated and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
