24hr Fight Against Cancer Macarthur

23 October 2025

On Saturday 11 October, the Macarthur community came together with incredible spirit for the annual 24-Hour Fight Against Cancer walk — an inspiring show of support for locals affected by cancer and a tribute to the event's founder, Fred Bord OAM. This community-driven fundraiser plays a vital role in supporting the Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre, Campbelltown Hospital's Oncology Ward and Paediatric Ambulatory Care Unit, as well as Camden Hospital's Palliative Care and Outreach services. The funds raised help provide essential equipment and improve care for children and adults undergoing treatment. Last year, the community raised an incredible $397,000, bringing the total to $5.77 million over 21 years. With the same passion and generosity shown again this year, they're well on their way to reaching the $6 million milestone. A huge thank you to everyone who walked, donated, and supported — a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we come together for a cause that touches so many lives.
