2168 Children's Parliament 10 Year Anniversary

03 February 2026

On the 26th of November last year, I had the pleasure of attending the 10-year anniversary of the 2168 Children's parliament. This significant milestone, coinciding with its 17th sitting, celebrated a decade of meaningful work in supporting children and their development, including my own daughter who was part of the inaugural Parliament a decade ago. During this event, I witnessed a collection of impactful speeches on topics including road safety, the rising cost of living and its impact on children, as well as the obstacles to sports participation; all current and existing issues in our society today. The delivery of these speeches left me impressed and moved, all representative of the skilfulness and awareness of the youth of my electorate. Throughout the day, attendees were treated to musical performances, trivia and interactive activities. Guest speakers from "Mission Australia" and Western Sydney University, as well as attendance by my colleagues including Charishma Kaliyanda, Member for Liverpool, offered valuable insight and mentorship to the young people of my electorate.
