Out of the five public preschools planned for the Leppington electorate, three have now taken a major step forward, with the NSW Government awarding contracts for their design and construction.
The preschools—co-located at Eschol Park Public School, Robert Townson Public School, and Kearns Public School—are among the first in the area to move from planning to delivery, as part of the Minns Labor Government’s historic expansion of early learning.
The new preschools will be delivered by Richard Crookes Constructions and are expected to open by early 2027. They will offer free, play-based learning and be co-located with existing public schools to simplify daily routines for families.
These projects are part of a broader rollout of 100 new public preschools across NSW, including five in the Leppington electorate, and form part of the NSW Government’s $8.9 billion investment in public education.
Member for Leppington Nathan Hagarty said:
“This is a major milestone. The announcement shows real progress is being made to deliver on the Government’s commitment to early education. It means we’re not just talking about more preschools—we’re building them.
Families in Eschol Park, Kearns and Raby can now see this commitment turning into reality. This investment will give more children access to quality early learning close to home. And it will make a real difference to working families trying to balance childcare, school and work,”
